1. On 1st July is observed as " Doctor day " throughout India.
National Doctor's Day is celebrated every year on 1st July in India to respect the legendary physician and the second Chief Minister of West Bengal, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy. On this day we acknowledge the contributions of doctor's humane service to mankind. Why National Doctor's Day is observed on 1st July?  This year theme of National Doctor’s Day 2019 is “Zero tolerance to violence against doctors and clinical establishment”. Every year the theme was declared by the Indian Medical Association. The theme will make awareness about the violence taking place with the doctors across India. The week of July 1 to Jul 8, 2019, will also be observed as ‘Safe Fraternity Week’.


National Doctor’s Day: History
National Doctor's Day is observed to honor & commemorate the eminent physician and West Bengal's second Chief Minister, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy's birth and death anniversary coincide in the same day. This day pays floral tribute to the whole medical profession and to highlight the value of doctors in our lives. In 1991, the National Doctor's Day was established by the Central Government to be recognized and observed every year on 1 July to pay honor Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy.

Dr.Bidhan Chandra Roy came of 1 July 1882 and also passed away on the same date in 1962. On 4 February 1961, he was awarded India's highest civilian award Bharat Ratna. In several countries, the Doctor's Day is celebrated on different dates. Like in the United States it is observed on 30 March, in Cuba on 3rd December and on 23 August in Iran.


About Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy
He was a highly honored physician and a renowned freedom fighter. He was the second Chief Minister of Bengal and remained on his tenure around 14 years in his post that is from 1948  to 1962. He is also regarded as the great architect of West Bengal. The five cities of West Bengal were also set up by him namely: Durgapur, Bidhannagar, Ashokenagar, Kalyani and Habra. He was also an active member of Brahmo Samaj. In the Medical College of Calcutta, he was the alumnus of the University of Calcutta. In his memory, the Union Government had also instituted an award. In 1928, he left history  & an instrumental role in the establishment of Indian Medical Association (IMA) and also in the establishment of the Medical Council of India (MCI).

2. Krishna Swami Natarajan became 23rd head of Indian coast guard.
Shri Krishnaswamy Natarajan became as 23rd chief of Indian Coast Guard here today. A 5th Batch Officer of the Indian Coast Guard, he participated service in January 1984. During the initial years, the expert in select core competencies viz. Search and Rescue as well as Maritime Safety and Port Operations, at the US Coast Guard Reserve Training Centre, Yorktown, Virginia. The incoming Director-General holds a Master's Degree in Defence & Strategic Studies from Madras University and is an alumnus of the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington.

In his career spanning over 35 years, the Flag Officer has had the uniqueness of holding important Command and Staff appointments, both afloat and ashore. He has directed classes of Indian Coast Guard ships, viz. Advanced Offshore Patrol Vessel (AOPV), Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV), Fast Patrol Vessel (FPV) and Inshore Patrol Vessel (IPV). He has also worked as the Commander Coast Guard District No. 5 (Tamil Nadu), the Commanding Officer ICGS Mandapam and as the first Officer-in-Charge of Coast Guard Training Centre (Kochi).


 Post 26/11, the country was restoring from one of the worst terrorist attacks. His moment of considering came during that period, when as the Deputy Director General (Policy & Plans), on being hoisted to the Flag Rank he spearheaded the Staff Division of Policy & Plans at the Coast Guard Headquarters and was instrumental in giving a major fillip to the overall growth of the Coast Guard in terms of setting up of additional 20 Stations, 10 Air Establishment, two Regional Headquarters Seaboard Headquarters, contract for 120 ships & boats.



 The Flag Officer was hoisted to the rank of Additional Director General in August 2016 and took over the reins as Coast Guard Commander (Western Seaboard).
‘One Nation One Ration Card’ scheme, which will provide portability of food security facility, will be implement across the country from July 1, 2020. This means poor migrant people will be able to dispose of subsidized rice and wheat from any ration shop through  the country, so long as their ration cards are connected to Aadhaar.
All the States have been provided one more year to launch  point of sale (PoS) machines in the ration shops and implement the scheme, Food Minister Ram Vilas Paswan spoke journalists on Saturday. Already, 77% % of the ration shops across the country have PoS machines and more than 85% of people provided  under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) have their cards linked to Aadhaar, he spoke
While Aadhaar linkage is not mandatory to access NFSA benefits in a beneficiary’s local registered ration shop, situated closest to her home address, it will be necessary to access the portability scheme, according to senior Food Ministry officials. 
Ten States -- Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Telangana and Tripura – already offer this portability, indicated . Mr. Paswan. Delhi had also begun implementing portability, though it was later stopped for technical reasons. Other States, including Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Tamil Nadu, could easily implement the scheme, as they had PoS machines in all the ration shops.
“This scheme will ensure that no poor person is deprived of subsidised grains,” said the Minister. “We have written to all State governments to fast track its implementation, so that the whole country is ready to implement ‘One Nation, One Ration Card’ latest by June 30, 2020.”
A senior Ministry official made it clear that migrants would only be eligible for the subsidies supported by the Centre, which include rice sold at Rs. 3/kg and wheat at Rs. 2/kg. Even if a beneficiary moved to a State where grains were given for free, that person would not be able to access those benefits, as they were funded by the State exchequer.

4." One nation one ration card "will be implemented in India by 2020 1st July.
the Central government on Saturday instructed a one-year time to the states and the Union Territories (UTC) to introduce the "one nation, one ration card" system. The states and Union Territories have been providing time till June 30, 2020, to roll out one Public Distribution System (PDS).

Under the "one nation, one ration card" system, the beneficiaries would be able to dispose of subsidized foodgrains from ration shops in any part of the country.

Speaking on the "one nation, one ration card" system, Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Ram Vilas Paswan said that 10 states are already giving the social security benefits of Public Distribution System (PDS0.

The states that are introduced already belongs to  Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Telangana, and Tripura.

Speaking to reports, Ram Vilas Paswan spoke on June 30, 2020, the "one nation, one ration card" should be implemented in the entire country to ensure "no poor is eliminated of PDS facility if that person shifts from one place to another".

"We have written letters to the state government to fast track the introduction of this system," Ram Vilas Paswan said. The Union minister also commented that the "one nation, one ration card" system will ameliorate remove fake ration card holders.

Ram Vilas Paswan ensured that the biggest beneficiary of this will be those migrant workers who shift to other states to seek better job opportunities and will provide their food security.

"This will give freedom to the beneficiaries as they will not be bound to any one PDS shop and reduce their dependence on shop owners and curtail instances of corruption," the Ministry spoke in a statement.

It included that in the next two months, beneficiaries of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh will be able to access the PDS shops. The objective of the department is to make sure that this is implemented nationally in a time-bound manner.

6. India has observed on 1st July as the 2nd year of GST.
 The 2nd anniversary of Goods & Services Tax to be celebrated on 1st July 2019 

The second anniversary of Good & Services Tax (GST) will be observed tomorrow with Hon’ble Union Minister of State of Finance and Corporate Affairs Shri Anurag Thakur presiding over the event.

Shri Subhash C. Garg, Secretary is Department of Economic Affairs and  Dr. Ajay Bhushan Pandey, Revenue Secretary, Secretaries of the Ministries of Finance, Shri P.K. Das, Chairman CBIC, Members of CBIC, and senior officers of various Ministries of Government of India will also present the event. Senior functionaries of the apex chambers of commerce, trade and industry will also be present in large numbers. Similar functions have held across the country in all States and Union Territories.

GST was started on the 1st July, 2017 in a majestic ceremony held in the Central Hall of Parliament on the midnight of 30th June 2017. so the Government along with partners from the trade and industry is celebrating the 2nd Anniversary of GST on 1st July 2019.

However, the implementation of GST has not been without challenges in the early months. But thanks to the cooperation of the Trade and Industry and the yeoman service put forward by the GST authorities of the States and the CBIC, these challenges have been succeeded and GST has now settled down. Hence, the Government is commemorating the true spirit of Growing and Sharing Together (GST)

 Government of West Bengal t has declared a crop insurance scheme in association with the Agriculture Insurance Company of India (AIC), for the 2019 Kharif season. The scheme called Bangla Shashya Bima (BSB) is applicable for farmers in the following15 districts -
